We have had a great start to the autumn term! All the children are getting to know each other, the staff, routines, where materials, tools and equipment are kept. The teachers are undertaking assessments and planning for the next few weeks. We hope you have received the class ‘newsletters’ giving you additional information about how we do things and our expectations of the children and your very important role in supporting your children. Please contact us if you have any queries or concerns. The staff ‘live and breathe’ school and sometimes overestimate what you know so if there is anything you are not sure about or think we could do better please let us know.
We have already organised visits and opportunities for you to come into school for parents ‘evening’ and try out our school lunch [year Two this half term] and details were in the recent school newsletter. Further details will be sent out as soon as necessary.
The new children are settling into school really well and are getting to know each other and their new environment. The children have had a busy week as they have planted bulbs and pansies , cut and glued, used the role play area, played with the castle and listened to stories .
We have been lucky with the weather which enabled us to eat our lunch outside on a number of days.
The children have also met and worked Mrs Ali Hargreaves our art teacher who comes into school on alternative Thursdays and Mrs Louise Palmer who teaches ‘computing’, usually on a Tuesday afternoon.
The children also thoroughly enjoyed the singing workshop that Naomi led on Friday morning. Naomi will be in each Friday for the next ten weeks and will conclude the workshops with an opportunity for parents to come into school and see the children perform some of the songs, rhymes and chants which the children will be learning.
