Forest School!
To start our session this week we talked about the seasons, the fact that October is in Autumn & how we often celebrate harvest at this time of year. I asked the children how their food gets to them & we discussed how people are involved at each stage to grow, harvest, transport and then sell our food. It takes lots of people doing different jobs & a bit of teamwork.
Thinking about teamwork we played a little game; each child held a bit of rope & we worked together to make various shapes including a circle, square & even a star!
Then we did some painting using seasonal apples on a long sheet of paper, each adding an apple print or two to the picture.
Our fire snack this week was toasted marshmallows & following two weeks of practicing over a pretend fire the children all did a brilliant job of safely warming up their marshmallows over the real fire."
