We were extremely lucky to have a parent come in and talk to the children, staff and other parents about his work in both the Arctic and Antarctica.
Mr Evatt went to Antarctica with his team to locate and study meteorites which have landed there from Space. He also showed pictures and talked about the wildlife that he saw, the equipment they used to locate the meteorites and the whole experience of being away from home for nearly three months last year. It was incredible!!! The children got to hold pieces of meteorite, a reindeer's antler, a metal detector and small pieces of rock from the Moon and Mars.
Absolutely fascinating! They had plenty of questions for him afterwards.
Thank you Mr Evatt!
