The government provided funding to cover a one-off universal catch-up premium for the 2020/2021 academic year. It aims to support pupils to catch up for lost learning caused by the coronavirus pandemic. Whilst it's a one-off catch-up premium, schools can carry forward any unspent funding to future academic years. Further guidance can be viewed at www.gov.uk/guidance/coronavirus-covid-19-catch-up-premium.
School allocations are calculated on a per pupil basis, providing each mainstream school with a total of £80 for each pupil in Reception through to Year 6. This means that Combs Infant School was in receipt of £3,120 (39 x £80) in 2020-21 to help support our pupils.
