We are excited to announce that from September 2024, Kidslingo will be joining us at Combs Infant School to teach our children Spanish.
Starting from Nursery, all our children will receive weekly Spanish lessons taught by a very skilled and passionate linguist, Fen. This new Spanish programme is fully designed to meet curriculum requirements.
Kidslingo is a multi-award-winning, CAA gold accredited kids’ language company which aims to inspire young children from birth to age 12 years to learn French and Spanish through the structured use of songs, actions, rhymes, game play, storytelling and drama. They aim to enhance cultural capital via a wider world view, supporting pupils’ roles as effective global citizens.
The Kidslingo methodology and scheme of work are based on learning in a natural and intuitive way via fun and interaction, which goes hand in hand with our ethos and values at Combs Infant School.
By inviting Kidslingo in to our school, we are working together so the children that we teach are inspired by languages, to feel that language learning is a positive, exciting and fun experience and to set a strong foundation for their approach to languages throughout their education and their lives in general.
Learning a new language at a young age helps children develop their cognitive skills, such as problem-solving, critical thinking, and attention to detail. These skills lead to better academic performance and have a positive impact on pupils’ overall mental health and well-being.
